Recently widowed Arthur Latimer has become a recluse within his specially designed fortress beach home -- until he in inexorably magnetized to the bizarre weekend party taking place at a neighboring house.

Now Art is begining to doubt everything he sees: an unannounced visit from an old friend; messages, possibly from his dead wife found in bottles washed up on shore. With the biggest hurricane ever to hit the pacific Northwest approaching, Art's inner and outer realities have been turned upside down. And his world is about to become more burtal and illusive than he could ever have imagined ...

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING

"... all if Schow's glittering weapons are sharper than ever." -- Peter Straub

"A jagged nightmare spiked with charm, meloncholy, and vicious intelligence." -- Michael Marshall Smith, author of Only Forward.

"A highly original, boldly conceived psychological thriller observed with the rapt eye and assassin's sting of the artist as fer-de-lance." -- John Farris

"A thriller, a literary metaphor, and one dark speeding bullet of a novel. Edgy, insightful and fearless, it's a book I couldn't put down." -- Joe R. Lansdale

WHAT WE'RE SAYING

Highly Recommended -- Lydia.

David J. Schow, is a master storyteller. Bullets of Rain proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that his considerable talents are well suited to the longer form.

I started reading it late at night -- figuring I'd knock off a few chapters before falling asleep. but the story and writing pulled me in. The next thing I knew it was dawn and I was still very wide awake!
