LOCATION:
The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum is located at 211 Main Street in
Wethersfield, Ct., which is directly south of Hartford. Going south from
Hartford, take Interstate 91 south, Exit 26, and follow the brown signs
referring to Webb House and Silas Deane House. Going north
on Interstate 91, follow the signs to Old Wethersfield and the brown
signs referring to Webb House and Silas Deane House.
Traveling from the east or west, take Interstate 84 to Interstate 91
south.
The Museum may also be reached from Silas Deane Highway (Route 99) to
Church Street or Wells Road, which both go into Main Street.
Car parking is available on Main Street in front of the Museum, or in
the parking lot behind Keeney Memorial Center, which is directly across
the street from the Museum. School buses or travel buses visiting the
Museum may park on Museum grounds in back of the Museum.
HOURS:
SUMMER HOURS: Open for tours May 1 to Oct. 31 every day except Tuesday
from 10 to 4. Tours leave on the hour. Last three-house tour goes out at
3. The Buttolph-Williams House on Broad Street, which is owned by the
Antiquarian and Landmarks Society but managed by the Webb-Deane-Stevens
Museum, is included in the summer tour.
WINTER HOURS: Open for tours Nov. 1 to April 30 on Saturdays and
Sundays from 10 to 4. Tours leave on the hour. Last three-house tour
goes out at 3. The Buttolph-Williams House on Broad Street is closed
during the winter. Additional tour days are offered throughout the year,
such as the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, and Fridays during February
for Slavery Tours. Call the Museum at 860-529-0612 for confirmation of
these openings, or see Calendar of Events on this website. The Museum is
closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s
Eve, New Year’s Day, and Easter Sunday.
RATES:
THREE-HOUSE TOURS cost $8 per adult; $7 per senior over 60 and AAA
member; $4 per student and child 5-18.
ONE-HOUSE TOURS cost $3 per adult; $2 per student and child 5-18.
For an annual fee of $15.00, one can become a FRIEND OF THE MUSEUM and
receive free tours all year, including family members; a 10% discount on
Museum gift shop purchases; special invitations to Museum programs,
exhibits, and holiday events; special discounts on Webb Barn rental; and
a subscription to the Museum’s publication, the Webb House Journal,
which is published three times a year. |
